We are proud to announce that EcoSolutions, a startup founded by three students from our Entrepreneurial Studies program, has won the National Entrepreneurship Competition, securing $50,000 in funding for their innovative solution to water conservation in agricultural settings.
The team, consisting of Aibek Tursunov, Meerim Kadyrova, and Azat Ibraimov, developed a low-cost, solar-powered irrigation system that uses sensors and mobile technology to optimize water usage for small-scale farmers. Their solution addresses a critical challenge in Kyrgyzstan's agricultural sector, where water scarcity is increasingly affecting crop yields and farmer livelihoods.
"We're incredibly honored to receive this recognition," said team leader Aibek Tursunov. "The mentorship and support we received from our professors at the Institute were instrumental in helping us refine our concept and business model."
The team will use the funding to conduct field tests with partner farms and further develop their technology. They plan to launch a pilot program in three regions of Kyrgyzstan by the end of the year.
This achievement highlights the effectiveness of our institute's approach to entrepreneurial education, which emphasizes practical problem-solving, innovation, and social impact. We look forward to seeing EcoSolutions grow and make a positive difference in our agricultural communities.
